We all know that finding the perfect presents for our loved ones, at Christmas time can be a little tricky. What do we buy for someone that has everything? Well, ASOS have came out with lot’s of novelty gifts this year and I am absolutely loving it. This Top 3 list looks as my favourites. Lets begin;

1. Flamingo mug. Cute, Pink and holds your hot chocolate. I would personally love this, and at only £7.50 – bargain.

2.     Baddie Winkle’s Fashion Book. Everyone loves a good book, and for all of us Instagram Fashionista’s Baddie Winkle is some serious style inspo. This book is the perfect gift and at £14.99 it isn’t breaking the bank at atall.

My Top 3 Premium Items Wishlist

Ahh luxury items..we all fantasise about them, right? I feel like we all have those specific things in our minds, the ones we’ve always dreamed about owning…so with that, I’ve decided to make a little list of the top 3 things I have always wanted (and will one day get, when I win the lottery). Lets go!

1. Jimmy Choo heels. Yup. For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of owning a pair of Jimmy Choo’s, and not just any Jimmy Choo’s….The coarse glitter 100mm heel pumps. I’m not sure what started this obsession, possibly the days spent watching Sarah Jessica Parker walk around New York in the famous stilettos – I fell in love. The glitter on the heel is absolutely beautiful and just screams luxury. But the price..£425. Not exactly affordable when you’re a student, but one day.. they WILL be mine.

2. Chanel Handbag. I mean, who doesn’t want a Chanel handbag? Another classic that is simple but stunning. I love Coco Chanel, and have always wanted one of her products other than the Perfume I am partial to buying. The handbag in particular, that I have always wanted is the ‘Classic Flap Bag‘ in the colour black, (made from lambskin). The price? £4,450. Not exactly achievable at the moment for me, sadly.

3. Tiffany Engagement Ring. I mean…I don’t want it right now, but in the future? Absolutely. This one is a little farfetched I guess, but this is a Wishlist. My obsession with Tiffany’s began where the majority begin…watching ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ as a child. Anyway, the particular ring I have in mind is the, ‘Tiffany Soleste Princess cut‘ ring. The price of this beauty is, £33,600. So, unless I marry a millionaire, it probably won’t be happening, but I can still admire!

My Top 3 Cocktail Bars in Edinburgh

“Sometimes all you need is a mojito.”

Ahhhh Cocktails..we all love them, right? This post is going to look at my top 3 favourite cocktail bars to visit, in the beautiful city of Edinburgh.

1. Juniper. Juniper is a cocktail bar and restaurant located opposite from Waverley train station, making it very convenient to get to if travelling by train. The interior of the bar is beautifully decorated with a very modern and relaxed vibe. And as for the cocktails..unique combinations that are beautifully presented. Juniper really offers an experience as well as incredible tasting drinks. My personal favourite from Juniper is the bramble gin cocktail.

2. Boozy Cow. Although this specific cocktail bar sounds like a bit of an insult, it really is fantastic. Also close by to the train station, boozy cow is easy to get to and also has amazing food, such as burgers and fries covered in bacon and cheese – it is an all American experience. They have an amazing variety for cocktails and drinks, my personal favourite is the Nutella cocktail, presented in a little milk carton – so cute.

3. Tigerlily. Another City Centre bar, Tigerlily is very famous in Edinburgh for its fancy interior. Although quite expensive the service is quick and the drinks are delightful, with lots of unusual drinks including a watermelon mojito, what’s not to love.

My Top 3 Wardrobe Staples

All of us have our favourite items within our wardrobe, the ones we always reach for when we haven’t planned out an outfit for the day. This post is going to look at my top 3 favourite items I really couldn’t live without…let’s go!

1. Leather Jacket. “A simple leather jacket has gotten me through cocktail parties in New York and cold nights in Afghanistan.” – Ronan Farrow. One reason for adoring my leather jacket is how versatile it is, it really can be worn with everything and if you haven’t got one..get one. They will never go out of style and last forever, so what are you waiting for?

2. Skinny Jeans. One word. Denim. You really just can’t go wrong with a pair of skinny jeans, once again a real classic that will never go out of style. Jeans can be worn for a night out, a walk in the park, absolutely anywhere making them the perfect investment for your hard earned cash.

3. Lastly but certainly not least…a little black dress. You probably knew that one was coming, but heres why. A black dress is so easy to slip on, from a party to drinks with friends, black is never tacky or over the top. The LBD is often slimming and elegant – what more could you want?

My Top 3 Premium Foundations

As you can tell by now, I’m a bit of a makeup enthusiast. For todays post I have decided to talk about my top 3 premium foundations and why I think they’re worth spending a little extra on! Let’s get started..

1. NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. A couple of years back when I worked in Debenhams, I was browsing the makeup counters and i came across this foundation. I gave it a swatch on my hand and noticed immediately how great the coverage was..something I look for in a foundation as i have a multitude of freckles to try and cover! I decided to buy it in the shade “Ceylan” a great shade if you have quite pale skin. The cost of this foundation was £31, although slightly pricey a little goes a long way with this foundation. MY skin type is pretty oily and I found that it stayed on my skin all day without sliding off. I would highly recommend this foundation to those with oily skin – its incredible!

2. Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15. I found this foundation when I was looking to buy some makeup for going on holiday. Not only is it light weight and easy to apply (due to its blendable formula) it contains SPF 15! a life saver when on holiday – it doesn’t just make your skin look flawless, it protects it too.The shade I bought was “Porcelain” a very pale beige shade. Again, I would recommend this foundation for those of us unlucky enough to have oily skin. I found that even in the hot weather my foundation stayed in place, allowing me to enjoy the sunshine without worrying about patchiness. This foundation comes in at £34 a bottle. And I can safely say it’s worth it!

3.Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. With my first ever pay, from my first ever job, this foundation was my first purchase. I had always wanted to try it after watching multiple reviews on youtube – and it did not disappoint. This foundation is light to medium coverage but it leaves the skin with a glowy, dewy look. I was shade “2” in this foundation and it matched my pale complexion perfectly. This foundation sets amazingly on the skin, lasting all day and night (even on my oily face!) and I fell in love with it. The price for this bottle of perfection? £40. How I wish I could afford to buy it frequently, but student life just does not allow.

My Top 3 Celebrity Outfits Of 2017

Without fail, every day we are flooded with the variety of outfits celebrities wear, with thanks to social media and the internet. This is without a doubt my favourite part of having Instagram and Facebook as it always inspires me to push the boundaries on what I wear.

With that said, I decided to put together my top 3 celebrity outfits of 2017 to show you all!

1. Rihanna and her crystal encrusted bodysuit. Many of you social media lovers will know exactly what I am talking about here. In April 2017, Rihanna turned up at the music festival ‘Coachella’ (California) wearing a matching Gucci two piece consisting of a crystal embroidered top and leggings. The cost of this outfit? a mere £11000. Although expensive Rihanna definitely turned heads, and fulfilled the meaning of “Shining bright like a diamond”. 2. Hilary Duff in a gorgeous pink to make em’ wink outfit. I have been a giant Hilary fan since her days starring in the hit Disney TV show ‘Lizzie McGuire’. Years later and she is still wowing us with her unique style and bold looks. The photo below was taken also in April of 2017 and shows Hilary wearing an iconic hot pink glitter dress paired with nude stiletto heels. Amazing!

3. Zendaya…another previous Disney star from the show ‘Shake It Up’. She is now well known for her feminist views and incredible style. And ofcourse her natural beauty. The met gala of 2017 was filled with incredible and diverse celebrity styles but Zendaya stood out to me the most. Zendaya wore a beautiful off the shoulder gown, with a bright tropical print and matching lipstick. Her hair was also a gorgeous feature to the outfit, in its natural curls. Her look is shown in the image below.

My Top 3 Perfumes Of Choice

“A woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future.” – Coco Chanel

Everyday before I leave my house, I shower myself in perfume. To me, there is nothing quite like somebody commenting on how I smell (in a positive way, ofcourse). I have put together a little list of my top 3 perfumes, and why I love them.

1. Si by Armani. I was working in Debenhams when this perfume was first released and as soon as I first smelled it I fell completely in-love with it. There is just something about Si that smells luxurious. The packaging is very slick and simple. Providing it with an elegant and exclusive look. The price of this perfume for a 100ml bottle is around £85, making it quite a premium product. In my experience I feel this perfume is long lasting and worth its more expensive price. 2. Bombshell by Victoria’s Secret. This year I was incredibly lucky to spend 2 weeks on holiday in Florida. While in Florida I visited several Victoria’s Secret stores, and was graced with the beautiful Bombshell fragrance. I bought a bottle straight away and absolutely adore it. The fragrance is very light and flowery. The price for a 100ml bottle of Bombshell is around the £55 price-mark, also quite expensive but again – worth the money. 3. Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture.I have loved this perfume since I was around 15, I believe I first came across it at a friends house and it has been one of my essentials ever since. This perfume is much more affordable at around £37 for a 100ml bottle. Viva La Juicy has a very light fruity smell. The packaging is similar to Bombshell, also featuring the hot pink colour and wrapped with a ribbon. Picture below.

My Top 3 Fashion Movies

Fashion films are among my favourite things to watch, not only do they inspire me career wise but they also give me so many ideas for creating my own outfits and looks. This post is going to be a little bit about my top 3 favourite fashion movies, if you haven’t seen these…you NEED to watch them!

Number one: The Devil Wears Prada. The Devil Wears Pradamovie came out in 2006 and since then I have watched it countless times. Not only does this film provide you with hilarity, but it shows the real hard work behind the scenes of working for a magazine and also how hard it is to get a great job even when you have the qualifications.  Meryl Streep plays the magazine editor in this movie and she carries the icy character so incredibly well. My favourite quote from this movie was said by her,

“This… stuff’? Oh. Okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select… I don’t know… that lumpy blue sweater, for instance because you’re trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue, it’s not turquoise. It’s not lapis. It’s actually cerulean. And you’re also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent… wasn’t it who showed cerulean military jackets? I think we need a jacket here. Number two: Confessions of a Shopaholic. This movie came out in 2009, and follows the life of a University graduate (Rebecca Bloomwood), she is living in New York, a dream for many of us, and has a real shopping addiction BUT her shopping addiction lands her in an incredible amount of dept. This film is absolutely hilarious and has lots of inspiring quotes throughout. Here is my favourite;

“So I buy it. The most perfect little cardigan in the world. People will call me the Girl in the Grey Cardigan. I’ll be able to live in it. Really, it’s an investment.”

If you enjoy a rom-com and love fashion – this film is for you.

Number three: Sex and the City. Ofcourse, I just had to mention this movie. This movie came out in 2008, and is also set in New York. The main character we follow in this movie is Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker and her clear passion for the world of fashion is exactly what inspired me to study Fashion at University. Here is my favourite Carrie quote;

My Top 3 Lipsticks

“Lipstick is always in, whether it’s matte, creamy, glossy, and so on.” – Zoe Blake

Today I have decided to write a post about my top 3 lipsticks of choice. Personally, I wear Lipstick on the daily and this is because it makes me feel more put together, the reason for this? I have no idea, but there is no denying that lipstick adds a pop of colour to the face, helping you to appear more awake, even when you feel exhausted.

To start off with, the Satin lipstick range by MAC is absolutely incredible, the name satin would imply that it is a soft creamy texture, and that  would describe the formula perfectly, I would recommend this lipstick to anyone who suffers from dry skin as this lipstick is very moisturising. As for my preferred colour, ‘Twig’ ticks all the boxes for me. This shade is a muted brown with pink undertones, making it very subtle and easily wearable for everyday. The price of this lipstick is £16.50. Pictured below.

Secondly, another lipstick I would recommend is the Nars Cosmetics Semi-Matte Lipstick, this lipstick is a great alternative for those of us who suffer from dry lips, as we all know matte formulas can sometimes make us feel as though our lips are cracking up due to how dry it is. The semi matte formula is less drying but still gives the matte look we are trying to achieve. The shade of lipstick I have from this range is the colour ‘Fire Down Below’. This shade is a deep red, perfect for a night out or to dress up your look for the day. The cost for the NARS lipstick is slightly more expensive, coming in at around £22. Pictured below.

And last but not least, the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine range. These lipsticks are very glossy, but have great pigmentation, and although they are on the more expensive side, they last for a very long time. The packaging of this lipstick also appears very premium, and feels very fashionable. The formula of this lipstick almost seems to leave a staining effect on the lips, making the colour last throughout the day, in my experience even after drinking and eating, which is fabulous. The shade I have is the colour, is ’51’, a pale pink that is subtle but very pretty. The cost of this lipstick is £28. Image below.

Vera Wang On Weddings – The Book

In August of this year I was lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to work in a bridal shop as a bridal consultant, helping beautiful Scottish brides find their dream dress.

Upon starting in this position I quickly realised this job requires a lot of skill and knowledge. I decided to look for books that detailed the importance of different styles of wedding dresses and took to google to see the options.

One book stood out to me and that was, ‘Vera Wang On Weddings’ so of course, I ordered it…and Vera did not disappoint.

Vera Wang is one of the most prominent bridal designers, well-known for her flare and elegance. I would absolutely recommend this wonderful book to anyone with an interest in bridal fashion, or anyone with a love for Vera similar to mine.
